Job Summary Alcor is seeking a highly experienced professional to serve in a dual role as a Senior Education/Trainer Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Cybersecurity and Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator. This position is responsible for developing, delivering, validating, and continuously improving cybersecurity training programs, while also administering and modernizing the PowerTrain Learning Management System (LMS). The role requires deep technical expertise, strong instructional leadership, and hands-on LMS administration skills to ensure effective, compliant, and user-friendly learning experiences.
Act as the authoritative Subject Matter Expert for cybersecurity-related training content.
Design, develop, review, and enhance cybersecurity training programs to ensure accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness.
Deliver instructor-led, blended, and online training sessions as required.
Validate training materials, assessments, and learning outcomes to ensure alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Provide expert guidance and mentorship to trainers, instructional designers, and junior staff.
Lead training initiatives and support continuous improvement of curricula and delivery methodologies.
Stay current with evolving cybersecurity threats, standards, and best practices to keep training content up to date.
Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator
Administer, configure, and maintain the PowerTrain LMS to ensure optimal performance and usability.
Manage system settings, user interfaces, browser compatibility, and platform updates.
Create and manage user accounts, roles, permissions, and access controls while ensuring data integrity and system security.
Serve as the first line of support for learners and course managers, responding to inquiries and troubleshooting technical issues.
Develop and maintain user-friendly documentation, including how-to guides, FAQs, and job aids.
Generate detailed reports and analytics on course completion, learner engagement, and compliance with mandatory training.
Provide LMS data and insights for audits, leadership briefings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with instructional designers and training teams to manage course content, templates, and learning structures.
Ensure all LMS content and functionality comply with accessibility standards, including Section 508 compliance.
Support LMS modernization efforts, including automation, dashboard creation, and system integrations with tools such as project management platforms and cybersecurity systems.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as a Cybersecurity Trainer, Educator, or Subject Matter Expert.
Strong hands-on experience administering an enterprise-level LMS (PowerTrain LMS preferred).
In-depth understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies.
Experience managing online, blended, and instructor-led training programs.
Strong analytical skills with experience in LMS reporting and compliance tracking.
Knowledge of accessibility standards, including Section 508.
Excellent communication, mentoring, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
